StumbleUpon toolbar in Safari
I like Safari. I like that it’s fast with little bullshit. One thing I miss when using Safari is all my cool little add ons for firefox. Like Firebug! The best add on for any web designer or curious blogger. I also missed being able to stumble. StumbleUpon for me at work, is like the ultimate creative block antidote. Not only does it take my mind of the road block, but there’s also the possibility of being inspired through some amazing designs, photographs and sites I may happen to stumble upon.
So with a little digging, I found a java script code that acts as a bookmark so that when you click on it, it gives you a Stumble Upon toolbar. It’s not hideous either. It’s pretty stealth and mac-like and I’m all about the mac-like of anything. Call me a fan boy, but they sure know their minimalism.
So anyway, make a new bookmark in Safari (I happen to set mine in the bookmarks bar so it’s easily accessible). Name the bookmark “StumbleUpon” or whatever you like and link it to:
javascript:(function(){location.href=’http://www.stumbleupon.com/toolbar/#url=’ + encodeURIComponent(window.location.href);})()
Open a new tab, click that link and you’ll see a toolbar on top where you can log in. Pretty awesome stuff. And to make things easier for you, go ahead and click and drag on the link below and put it in your bookmarks bar. Enjoy!:
Here’s how it looks:
